Making sense of alignment

The correction becomes a question.

On October 5, SMELL was intended, but HEAR was used. The alternating weekly direction then became misaligned. We acknowledge the record and explore the relationships it revealed. Calendar corrections do not erase earlier publications.

01 / Acknowledgment

Follow the direction.

Week A: Taste → Smell → See → Feel → Hear → Taste → Smell.
Week B: Taste → Hear → Feel → See → Smell → Taste → Hear.

Both weeks start at TASTE on Sunday. They alternate directions. October 4 and 18 are Week A; October 11 and 25 are Week B. Boxed badges on affected October dates show the previously used alternate assignment.

02 / Hear ↔ Smell

Listen. Then notice.

Research found that sound can influence how pleasant an odor seems. Try describing a familiar scent in quiet and with different sounds. What changed for you?

03 / See ↔ Feel

Look. Touch. Compare.

Research on the rubber-hand illusion demonstrates interactions among sight, touch and body position. Try describing an object by touch, then with sight and touch together. Here FEEL means physical sensation; record emotions separately if you wish.

Read Botvinick & Cohen’s study ↗
04 / Observe → Practice

Watch the movement.

Mirror-neuron research began with neurons responding during both performed and observed actions in macaques. A proposed Geobody exercise compares written instructions with demonstration and practice. Measure recall and accuracy; this exercise does not measure neurons.
